Parks and Recreation Activities and Rentals Temporarily Suspended

 

The City of Melbourne Parks and Recreation Department manages numerous parks and recreational facilities, including 2 golf courses, 39 parks with 31 athletic fields, 21 playgrounds, 19 outdoor basketball courts, 64 picnic shelters, 12 rental pavilions, 2 fishing piers, 4 boat ramps, 2 cemeteries, 25 tennis courts, 3 swimming pools, the Melbourne Auditorium, Front Street Civic Center, Eau Gallie Civic Center, Wickham Community Center, Grant Community Center, Lipscomb Community Center and much more in a variety of recreational programs, activities and special events for all ages.

 

Activity Guide

Based on guidance from the Governor and the Florida Department of Health to postpone or cancel mass gatherings in effort to limit the spread of the Coronavirus/COVID-19 throughout the state, the City of Melbourne has decided to cancel or postpone classes, activities, programs, tennis, athletics, and special events at its Parks and Recreation facilities through the end of April. 

Facility rentals, including community centers, civic centers, auditorium, parks, pavilions and ballfields, will also be canceled through the end of April. All rental fees will be refunded. 

The golf courses and city parks currently remain open.
