What are the dates and time of Summer Camp?

Summer Camp will be from June 1, 2026 – August 7, 2026, and will run Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., except for Friday, July 3, 2026, when we are closed for the holiday.

What are the ages for Summer Camp?

Youth camp is for children ages 6-years-old to 12-years-old (age as of September 1, 2026).

Do you offer Financial Assistance?

Financial Assistance Applications(PDF, 260KB) for the City of Melbourne’s Summer Camp are being accepted at this time. The Financial Aid assistance we offer is for City of Melbourne residents that qualify for free or reduced lunch at school (25% off of weekly rate) or qualify for food stamps (50% off of weekly rate).

The Financial Assistance Program is for City of Melbourne residents only. Please include a copy or picture of your photo ID, and a second proof of address with your application. You may drop off your completed Financial Assistance Application to the Wickham Park Community Center; Eddie Lee Taylor, Sr. Community Center; or Eau Gallie Civic Center Monday – Friday between 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., or email a scanned copy with your photo ID and second proof of address to play.melbourne@mlbfl.org.

How do I register my child for camp?

Summer Camp Registration will start online April 5, 2026, at 5 p.m. and will continue until all spaces are filled. Registration will also be taken in person starting on April 6, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., for Wickham Park Community Center Camp and 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. for Eddie Lee Taylor, Sr. Camp. Registration will continue Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., for Eddie Lee Taylor, Sr. Camp and during normal operating hours at Wickham Park Community Center until all spaces are filled.

Summer Camp Refund requests must be received in the Recreation office at least seven days before the starting date of the class or program. There will be a $5 per class/program administrative charge on all refunds.

Will there be a teen camp offered this year?

No.

Do I have to sign up for all the weeks of camp? Do I have to pay up front for the weeks I select?

You can choose the weeks for your child to attend. The weeks selected can only be held by full payment.

What forms of payment do you accept?

How will grouping children work this year?

Campers will be placed in groups based on their age.

What is my child allowed to bring to camp?

Campers may bring a backpack with their snacks. Campers will not be allowed to bring any toys from home. Campers will be responsible for keeping all of their belongings to themselves. There will be no sharing of personal items brought to camp. All belongings must be taken home daily. Camp will not store anything overnight.

Campers need to bring two snacks in lunch boxes or similar containers, each day. If your child wishes to bring their own lunch to camp, lunches must be packed in a lunch box or similar container. No food items will be stored in a refrigerator or heated with a microwave.

Will any field trips take place this summer?

Yes, there are field trips listed on the camp schedules.

Will I be allowed, as a parent, inside the Community Centers?

Parents/Guardians will be allowed at the front entrance for drop-off or pick-up.

Will lunch and/or breakfast be served this year?

Breakfast and lunch will be provided by Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida at Eddie Lee Taylor, Sr. and Wickham Park Summer Camps. If, at any time the provider is not able to provide these meals, parents will be expected to provide breakfast and lunch for their children.
