Airport Clears Way for New Aviation Development

Melbourne Orlando International Airport (MLB) started demolition of the Southside T-hangars, clearing the way for future development on the airfield. The hangars, which have been in use since the 1960s, are being removed to support new aviation infrastructure and continued growth at the airport.

Beautification and Energy Efficiency Board

The Beautification and Energy Efficiency Board identifies and makes recommendations to the City Council concerning affordable strategies associated with conservation, renewable energy, and energy efficiency. Meetings are held on the third Friday of each month at 2 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chamber.

Rain Barrel Workshop

The City of Melbourne has partnered with Green Gables to host a rain barrel workshop. Participants will receive a free rain barrel at the workshop, will learn the benefits of using a rain barrel, and will learn how to install and use a rain barrel.

The Affordable Housing Advisory Committee reviews established policies and procedures, ordinances, land development regulations and the Comprehensive Plan of the City and recommends specific actions or initiatives to encourage or facilitate affordable housing.
