Melbourne Kitchen was recently recognized with a “We Noticed” Beautification Award for its efforts to enhance the appearance of its property at 55 E. NASA Boulevard.

Formerly Eddie’s Sunrise Diner, Melbourne Kitchen is owned by Tara and Chris Weaver, who spent more than two years transforming the building into a welcoming restaurant and gathering place for the community.

The City of Melbourne is a member of the Keep Brevard Beautiful South Action Team, along with other local municipalities and organizations in the South Brevard County region. On a regular basis, the South Action Team looks for businesses that beautify their properties and make environmentally friendly landscaping improvements.

The restaurant’s landscaping caught the team’s attention, especially Chris’s efforts to replace plants damaged by the recent freeze and add new native and tropical landscaping. A unique Komodo dragon statue adds a fun touch to the garden.

Chris takes great pride in the restaurant and its appearance, saying, “What’s not beautiful today can be beautiful tomorrow.”

Congratulations to Melbourne Kitchen for helping make our community a more beautiful place!
