The Melbourne City Council has approved an agreement with Recovery Connections of Central Florida Inc. to use opioid settlement funds to provide recovery services to Melbourne residents.
Under the two-year agreement, Recovery Connections will provide peer support recovery services, including intake, assessment, and ongoing support, as well as wrap-around services, including transportation services and transitional housing assistance.
The agreement will be funded with $350,000 from the City’s portion of opioid settlement proceeds from multiple litigation settlements. With these funds, Recovery Connections anticipates being able to help approximately 300 Melbourne residents who suffer from substance use disorder.
Recovery Connections of Central Florida is a nonprofit organization that offers services and support designed to help those with substance use disorder achieve long-term, sustainable recovery. They opened a recovery community center in Melbourne at the end of 2025 and also provide services in Titusville, Seminole, Orange, and Osceola counties.
