At the April 28 City Council meeting, Mayor Paul Alfrey officially proclaimed May 3–9 as National Drinking Water Week — a time to recognize the importance of protecting our source water from pollution and practicing water conservation in our community.

During the meeting, five outstanding students from different age divisions were honored for their winning entries in the Drop Savers Poster Contest, sponsored by the Florida Section of the American Water Works Association.

The City presented each student with a gift card in recognition of both their school-level wins and their achievements as overall winners in their divisions.
