Our crews are continuing to work to restore service throughout the entire distribution system.

The precautionary boil water notice remains in effect.

We ask all customers to please conserve water as much as possible.

Thank you for your continued patience and cooperation.

Nov. 3, 2026, 10:50 a.m. UPDATE

City of Melbourne crews are still working to resolve water system issues. Areas north of US 192 and beachside should be seeing increased water pressure.

Nov. 3, 2026, 8:45 a.m. UPDATE

Our crews continue to work to locate and repair the broken water main that is causing the disruption in water service to customers throughout our water distribution area. The precautionary boil water notice remains in effect. We will issue an update as soon as we have more information.

Nov. 2, 2026: Precautionary Boil Water Notice Issued for All Water Customers

A precautionary boil water notice has been issued for all City of Melbourne water customers, including City of West Melbourne water customers.

We are aware that some areas have no water pressure or low water pressure.

A water main break has occurred, but its exact location is unknown at this time. Crews are working to locate the break and make repairs as quickly as possible.

As a precaution, we advise that all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes be boiled.  A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient.  As an alternative, bottled water may be used.

This precautionary boil water notice will remain in effect until the problem has been corrected and testing confirms that the water is safe to drink. We will distribute another notification at that time.

City of Melbourne services water customers in the following communities:

  • Indialantic
  • Indian Harbour Beach
  • Melbourne
  • Melbourne Beach
  • Melbourne Village
  • Palm Shores
  • Satellite Beach
  • Unincorporated Brevard South of Pineda Causeway (Customers who live in unincorporated Brevard County located south of Pineda Causeway and receive a water bill from the City of Melbourne. Suntree and Viera are served by the Cocoa water system – not Melbourne.)

West Melbourne is a wholesale customer of Melbourne.
