Vehicle Crash - Traffic Homicide Investigation

On May 3, 2026, at approximately 2340 hours, the Melbourne Police Department received a 911 call in reference to a vehicle crash in the area of Montreal Ave and Highland Ave. Upon arrival, it was discovered a black motorcycle had left the roadway striking, an aluminum fence, a concrete light pole and a concrete fence post. The driver was ejected from the motorcycle and was not wearing a helmet. Brevard County Fire Rescue responded and transported the driver to a local hospital. That driver succumbed to his injuries at the hospital and was pronounced deceased there. The crash resulted in all lanes of traffic being closed for several hours. This case is still active.
