At approximately 0600 hours this morning, Melbourne Police officers responded to the Summerset Apartments regarding a suspicious incident. While on scene, officers heard gunshots close by and immediately located two adult males in front of an apartment. One male was transported to a local hospital with a gunshot wound. The second male was pronounced deceased at the scene.
At this time, the incident appears to be isolated. All individuals involved are accounted for, and there is no ongoing threat to public safety. The investigation remains active, and no additional details are available for release at this time. This is an active investigation. Additional information will be provided when it becomes available.
