Based on leads obtained through investigative means and social media, the Melbourne Police Department was able to obtain information that Robert Dale Corson III may be the individual responsible for the robberies at both 7-11 stores. Corson was located and interviewed by Detectives. Corson provided full confessions in both cases. Corson was charged as indicated below and was turned over to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office without further incident.
On October 9, 2025, at approximately 3:45 AM, the Melbourne Police Department was contacted in reference to a robbery. The caller was the employee at the 7-11 located at 1268 Aurora Rd. The clerk advised a white male entered the store and demanded money from the till. The clerk complied with the demands of the suspect. The suspect then left the store and fled in an unknown direction. The male wore a black mask over his face to conceal his identity.
At approximately 11:55 PM, a white male entered the 7-11 located at 220 W. New Haven Av. demanding cash from the clerk. The clerk complied and the male left the store and fled in an unknown direction. The male wore a black mask over his face during this incident as well.
Both incidents are active cases. The suspect in both cases appears similar, but we cannot confirm if they are the same person at this time.
