Fireworks are synonymous with our celebration of Independence Day. But fireworks can be dangerous, causing serious burn and eye injuries.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), an average of 180 people go to the emergency room every day with fireworks-related injuries in the month around the July 4 holiday.

The safest way to enjoy fireworks is to go to a public show put on by experts, like MelBOOM, the City of Melbourne’s annual fireworks celebration at Front Street Park.
