Melbourne Independence Day Parade

Hours:

The event will begin at 10:00 a.m. and will end at 11:00 a.m.

Road Closures:

The roads will be closed from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

Location:

The following streets will be closed during the above times:

  • Hickory Street (north portion) from just south of the Fire Station 74 driveway to E Strawbridge Avenue (local traffic only from Hibiscus Boulevard to the fire station driveway)
  • Hickory Street (south portion) from E Strawbridge Avenue to E New Haven Avenue (parade participants or emergency vehicles only shall be allowed to travel Hickory St between the fire station driveway and E New Haven Avenue during the parade event)
  • E Fee Avenue from Oak Street to McQuaid Street
  • E Lincoln Avenue at Hickory Street (local traffic only from Oak Street to Hickory Street; local traffic only from Hickory Street to McQuaid Street)
  • Palmetto Avenue at Hickory Street (local traffic only from Oak Street to Hickory Street; local traffic only from Hickory Street to McQuaid Street)
  • E New Haven Avenue from E Strawbridge Avenue to the railroad tracks
  • Oak Street from E Strawbridge Avenue to E New Haven Avenue (local traffic only from Melbourne Avenue to E New Haven Avenue)
  • Helen Street at New Haven Avenue (local traffic only from Melbourne Avenue to E New Haven Avenue)
  • Goff Place at New Haven Avenue (local traffic only from Melbourne Avenue to E New Haven Avenue)
  • Hallwood Place at New Haven Avenue (local traffic only from Melbourne Avenue to E New Haven Avenue)
  • Livingston Street from E Strawbridge Avenue to E New Haven Avenue
  • Grant Place at E New Haven Avenue (local traffic only from Melbourne Avenue to E New Haven Avenue
  • Waverly Place from the hotel driveway just south of E Strawbridge Avenue to E New Haven Avenue (local traffic only from E Strawbridge Avenue to the hotel driveway; and local traffic only from Melbourne Avenue to E New haven Avenue)
  • Vernon Place at E New Haven Avenue (local traffic only from Melbourne Avenue to E New Haven Avenue)
  • Municipal Lane from E Strawbridge Avenue to E New Haven Avenue
  • Municipal Lane east-west alleyway shall be closed at the midpoint between Municipal Lane and the main parking lot as shown on the MOT plan
  • E Strawbridge Avenue west bound left turn lanes to Livingston Street, Waverly Place, and Municipal Lane
  • S Harbor City Boulevard (US1) north bound left turn lane to E New Haven Avenue

Free parking in city-owned parking lots.
