Guava Avenue between Creel Street and St. Clair Street will be closed Monday, November 17, until Wednesday, November 19, so that this section of Guava Avenue can be converted into a one-way street with traffic flowing in the northbound direction.
The City of Melbourne is converting this section of Guava Avenue into a one-way street in order to increase the number of available parking spaces in the Eau Gallie Arts District.
Changing the existing parallel parking spaces into diagonal parking spaces will add 15 parking spaces, bringing the total number of parking spaces on Guava Avenue between Creel Street and St. Clair Street to 28.
The roadway conversion is expected to take approximately 1-2 days to complete, depending on weather conditions.
