Next date: Saturday, March 07, 2026 | 09:00 AM to 02:00 PM

MPD officer and boy show fish they caught

A free, family-friendly event designed to educate and inspire youth in our community.

Children ages 5–15 will rotate through fun, interactive education stations where they’ll learn:

  • Where fish live and what they eat
  • Casting basics and fishing skills
  • Water safety and wildlife conservation
  • The importance of protecting the Indian River Lagoon

Once the stations are completed, registered children will receive a free fishing pole and have the opportunity to fish alongside our officers and community partners.

Available time slots: 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m. or 12:30 p.m.

Reservations are required to receive a free fishing pole.

Parking is available on site

Boy Scouts will be on site selling hot dogs and drinks.

Because this is an outdoor event, please plan accordingly and bring water, sunscreen, and chairs for parents.

This is a great opportunity for the Melbourne Police Department to connect with youth and families in our community.

We look forward to seeing you there!
