During last night’s City Council meeting, Mayor Paul Alfrey presented Peter Kostrzewa a Volunteer Milestone of Service Award to honor and recognize his 35 years of service on the Zoning Board of Adjustment.
During the May 12 City Council meeting, the City of Melbourne was recognized by the Florida City and County Management Association (FCCMA) for its 100th anniversary of having a council-manager form of government.

The Beautification and Energy Efficiency Board identifies and makes recommendations to the City Council concerning affordable strategies associated with conservation, renewable energy, and energy efficiency. Meetings are held on the third Friday of each month at 2 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chamber.

The Historic and Architectural Review Board recommends local historic designations and regulates and administers historical, cultural, archaeological and architectural resources in the City of Melbourne. It also considers material changes in the exterior appearance of existing buildings located on non-residential property in the City’s redevelopment districts.
