Rain Barrel Workshop at Green Gables, April 26

Earleen and Jason show off the new rain barrel that they got at our January Rain Barrel Workshop at Green Gables.

Not only will they be helping protect the Indian River Lagoon by capturing stormwater as it washes off their roof during a heavy rain, they will be saving money, too. Rain barrels allow you to capture rain water and then use it to water plants and for other outdoor water needs. And because they are City of Melbourne residents, they also qualify for a rain barrel rebate.

 Our next workshop will be held April 26, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Participants will receive a free rain barrel at the workshop, will learn the benefits of using a rain barrel, and will learn how to install and use a rain barrel.

The workshop will be held outdoors. Participants are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.

Class size is limited, and advanced registration is required.

Rebates available:

Residents of the City of Melbourne can participate in the Rain Barrel Rebate Program to receive a $25 rebate when proof of installation is submitted. Rebates are limited and will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis.
