Julie Sanders

Julie Sanders was elected to office on November 6, 2018, by the city at large to serve on the Melbourne City Council as the representative of District 6 (view a map of Council Districts). She will serve a four-year term, which ends November 2022.  

Ms. Sanders grew up in New York, where she graduated high school. She attended the College of Saint Elizabeth in New Jersey, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and elementary education. Upon graduation Ms. Sanders relocated to Melbourne. Ms. Sanders began her career in education in 1992 and has worked for Brevard Public Schools since 1996. Furthering her education while working, Ms. Sanders received a master’s degree from Nova Southeastern University in educational leadership. 

While she is currently working at Central Middle School Ms. Sanders takes an active role in many after school activities, including mentoring, tutoring and coaching students. An avid outdoors enthusiast, Ms. Sanders enjoys 5Ks, snorkeling, diving, camping and everything nature.  

Ms. Sanders is a mother of two and enjoys spending time with her children.
