The City of Melbourne continues to work closely with officials at Brevard County and the Florida Department of Health to monitor the spread of the Coronavirus/COVID-19 and formulate a coordinated local response.

Phase 2

July 1, 2020, Update:

The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation has amended the emergency order issued on June 26, 2020, regarding the suspension of on-premises consumption of alcohol at bars and pubs to allow any establishment licensed to sell food to also sell alcohol. For details, please see Amended Emergency Order 2020-09

Phase 2 Highlights:

  • People are encouraged to limit gatherings to 50 or fewer, up from 10 or fewer under Phase
  • Restaurants can allow seating at the bar.
  • Bars can open with 50% capacity inside and must be seated for service; outdoor can operate at full capacity. However, on-site alcohol consumption at bars was suspended by the DBPR on June 26.
  • Retail can open at full capacity.
  • Gyms can operate at full capacity.
  • Entertainment businesses, such as movie theaters and bowling alleys, can operate at 50% capacity.
  • Personal service businesses, such as tattoo parlors and tanning salons, can operate following health department guidelines.

City Pools Open June 22 With Limited Occupancy

City pools will open on June 22 with limited occupancy. Reservations will be recommended during weekdays and required on weekends. Information about swim lessons will be coming soon. Updates will be posted on our pools webpage.

Pool Locations, Hours and Fees

Fee Avenue Pool:

  • Location: 114 Fee Ave.
  • Hours: Open Monday – Sunday, noon – 5 p.m.
  • Fees:
    • 17 & under:  $2/Resident & $2.50/Non-Resident 
    • Adults:  $3/Resident & $3.50/Non-Resident

Lipscomb Pool:

  • Location: 3400 Monroe St. 
  • Hours: Open Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, noon – 5 p.m.
  • Fees:
    • 17 and under: $1/Resident & $1.50/Non-Resident 
    • Adults:  $2/Resident & $2.50/Non-Resident

Sherwood Pool:

  • Location: 2479 Post Rd.
  • Hours: Open Monday – Sunday, noon – 5 p.m.
  • Fees:
    • 17 & under:  $1.50/Resident & $2/Non-Resident   
    • Adults:  $2.50/Resident & $3/Non-Resident

Reservations

  • Recommended reservations weekdays for 90 minute increments: noon-1:30 p.m., 1:45 p.m.-3:15 p.m., 3:30 p.m.-5 p.m.
  • Required reservations on weekends for 90 minute increments: noon-1:30 p.m., 1:45 p.m.-3:15 p.m., 3:30 p.m.-5 p.m.
  • Only 1 reservation may be made per day. Reservations can only be made 1 day in advance and are limited to 5 people.
  • You could come without a reservation or stay longer if spots are available.
  • Reservations will only taken during pools open hours, noon - 5 p.m.
