Members of the Melbourne Criminal Investigations Division developed probable cause to arrest Fermin Cruz for the shooting that occurred on the 900 Block of Footbridge Drive. Friday evening, at approximately 8:40 p.m., Fermin Cruz turned himself in at police headquarters.

Event: Shooting Incident

Date/Time of Event: November 8, 2019 / 11:46 a.m.

Location of Event: 900 Block of Footbridge Dr., Melbourne

On Friday November 8, 2019, just before 12 p.m. (Noon) Melbourne Police Officers responded to a call reporting a shooting with a victim in the 900 block of Footbridge Dr. in the Meadows.

Upon arrival it was discovered there had been an argument between neighbors that turned physical. One adult male pulled a handgun and shot the adult victim. The victim was transported to a local hospital and is reported to have non-life-threatening injuries at this time.
