CASE # MP190067595
Time: 1719 hours
Location: 400 E. Sheridan Rd., 27 E. Hibiscus Blvd., 141 E. Hibiscus Blvd., and 600 Block of Fee Ave.
At approximately 5:19 p.m., Michael Page was undergoing a medical evaluation at a facility off of Sheridan Road when he unexpectedly struck an employee of the facility and fled on foot. After fleeing the facility, Michael Page engaged three different citizens in an attempt to gain control of their vehicles and/or property. He successfully stole items from one victim at Browning’s Medical Supply located at 141 East Hibiscus Boulevard, but was not able to take the vehicle. He then fled on foot to the area of South Apollo Boulevard and Silver Palm Avenue. Page was able to enter a vehicle at this location as it was exiting a parking lot. Page took control of the vehicle and fled southbound on Apollo Boulevard with the owner still inside. He then turned east onto Fee Avenue and eventually crossed over U.S.1.
The victim of the carjacking, a 16-year old male, found himself unable to exit the vehicle as Michael Page drove off. An officer arriving in the area, driving an unmarked vehicle, observed Michael Page enter the victim’s car and began following it. An officer, in a marked patrol vehicle, quickly caught up to the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. Michael Page refused to stop for the officer, nor did he give the victim an opportunity to safely exit the vehicle. Michael Page was forced to slow down by congested traffic near the intersection of Riverview Drive and U.S. 192. The victim took the opportunity to flee from the vehicle at this time. Michael Page then continued east on U.S. 192. Officers lost sight of him as he fled into the Town of Indialantic, Florida.
At approximately 12:30 a.m., Michael Page attempted to seek medical attention at Indian River Hospital where members of the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office located the stolen vehicle and successfully apprehended him.
