A new project to transform Hickory Street into a “complete street” that is safe, accessible and enjoyable for roadway users of all ages and abilities, including pedestrians, bicyclists, drivers and bus riders is underway. Project Schedule

The Hickory Street Complete Street Project began on March 28, 2018, and will take approximately 18 months to complete. Construction will occur in two phases in order to minimize the disruption to motorists, pedestrians and businesses. Phase 1 will be between Hibiscus Blvd. and NASA Blvd. and Phase 2 will be between Hibiscus Blvd. and New Haven Ave.

Road Closure: Hickory Street (between New Haven Ave. & Strawbridge Ave.), Oct. 28 + 2 months

Hickory Street between Strawbridge Avenue (U.S. 192) and New Haven Avenue will begin full roadway closure beginning Monday, October 28, and will remain closed for two months. This will allow the contractor to complete the storm inlet and pipe installation and the roadway reconstruction as part of the Hickory Street Complete Street Project
