Countywide updates regarding shelters, evacuation routes, causeway re-openings after the storm, and other important information, will be distributed by Brevard County Emergency Management on their Twitter and Facebook pages.

Emergency Response During High Winds

During a severe storm, like Hurricane Dorian emergency response can be delayed, and in some cases it may be difficult for emergency services to reach you. This is especially true if you are in an area that is under mandatory evacuation like the barrier island. Ambulances and other large vehicles may not be able to cross causeways when winds are too high.
