Countywide updates regarding shelters, evacuation routes, causeway re-openings after the storm, and other important information, will be distributed by Brevard County Emergency Management on their Twitter and Facebook pages.

Mandatory Evacuations In Effect for Barrier Islands, Low Lying Areas, Mobile/Manufactured Housing, Special Needs

Brevard County emergency officials have announced a mandatory evacuations due to dangerous Hurricane Dorian.

The following residents should START evacuating on Monday, Sept. 2, at 8 a.m.:

  • those in mobile homes or manufactured housing,
  • those in low-lying, flood-prone areas,
  • those with special medical needs such as electrical dependence (call 2-1-1 if you have not registered for information)
  • those who live on the barrier islands, including areas from Kennedy Space Center south to the south beaches, and Merritt Island

To determine whether an address is located in an evacuation zone, plug in the address at the search engine in the upper left hand corner of this webpage.
