A new project to transform Hickory Street into a “complete street” that is safe, accessible and enjoyable for roadway users of all ages and abilities, including pedestrians, bicyclists, drivers and bus riders is underway. Project Schedule

The Hickory Street Complete Street Project began on March 28, 2018, and will take approximately 18 months to complete. Construction will occur in two phases in order to minimize the disruption to motorists, pedestrians and businesses. Phase 1 will be between Hibiscus Blvd. and NASA Blvd. and Phase 2 will be between Hibiscus Blvd. and New Haven Ave.

Lane Closure: Hickory St. between Strawbridge Ave. (U.S. 192) and New Haven Ave., Aug. 26-27

The southbound lane of Hickory Street between Strawbridge Avenue (U.S. 192) and New Haven Avenue and the westbound turn lane of Strawbridge Ave. to Hickory St., will be closed August 26 and August 27 to allow for the installation a 12-inch water line via directional bore under U.S. 192 as part of the Hickory Street project.

Northbound Hickory Street will remain open for access to Florida Eye Associates.
