Volunteers Wanted for Planning and Zoning Board

Post Date:08/13/2019 11:36 AM
The City of Melbourne is seeking volunteers to serve on its Planning and Zoning Board.

The Planning and Zoning Board acts primarily in an advisory capacity to the City Council on questions relating to zoning, comprehensive planning, and land use; conducts investigations on matters or proposals to change zoning and land development regulations; and in some cases makes the final decision on site plan approval requests under one acre.

This is a quasi-judicial board. Members sit as judges and make decisions based on the evidence and testimony presented during meetings.

Applicants must be City of Melbourne residents and registered to vote. The Planning & Zoning Board meets the first and third Thursday of every month at 6:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chamber.

For more information, download an application from the city’s website or contact the City Clerk’s office at or 321-608-7220.
