Update on City Water
On July 29, we received preliminary results from our samples taken of the untreated surface water coming into the water treatment plant from Lake Washington on July 23.
The toxins that are regulated by the EPA (Microcystin/Nodularins, Cylindrospermopsin and Anatoxin-a) were not detected.
The test results did detect an extremely small amount of Saxitoxin, which is not regulated.
The test results found Saxitoxin at the level of 0.11 ug/L. We are confident that primary disinfection process utilized for virus removal is handling the extremely small amount of saxitoxin present.
The City will be testing our finished water this week to confirm that any trace amount of Saxitoxin has been removed.
