Man Thanks Fire Station 73 Crew for Saving His Life

Post Date:05/09/2019 12:41 PM

Yesterday Ted Wendland visited Fire Station 73 to thank and recognize the emergency responders who saved his life two months ago. On March 12, he went to the walk-in clinic on Gateway Drive believing he had the flu. However, he collapsed soon after arriving at the clinic. Clinic staff started CPR and called for help. Within minutes the crew from Fire Station 73 (located off NASA Boulevard at the airport) arrived and began treatment. He was then transported to the hospital by Brevard County Fire Rescue where he made a full recovery. Grateful to all who helped him, Mr. Wendland and his family are visiting and thanking the emergency crews and clinic staff to show their appreciation. He is pictured here with the Fire Station 73 crew: Driver Engineer Deyon James (left), Lt. Steve Roberts (right of Mr. Wendland) and Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technician Ryan Gordon (right).
