Public Invited to Presentation on Energy Savings Performance Contracting January 18

Alexander Mack, Program Administrator for the State Energy Program of the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Energy Office, will be making a presentation to the City of Melbourne’s Beautification and Energy Efficiency Board during their monthly meeting on January 18. This meeting is open to the public at will be held between 2 and 4 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, located at 900 E. Strawbridge Avenue. 

Mack’s presentation is entitled, “Guaranteed Energy Savings Performance Contracting.” Energy performance contracting is offered by Energy Services Companies as a practical way for public sector entities to obtain and finance energy-saving projects for their facilities.

The Beautification and Energy Efficiency Board was established in 2017 by the Melbourne City Council to develop an environmental sustainability plan for city operations with a goal of achieving 100% clean energy by 2035.  Board meetings are held the third Friday of the month. Expert presentations have been provided by City staff and others as work is underway to establish a plan of action to move toward clean energy in City operations.
