City donates concrete poles to Brevard Zoo
The City of Melbourne recently donated 12 concrete poles to the Brevard Zoo. The zoo will use the poles to construct multiple bulk storage bins for products they use such as soil, gravel and mulch.
The poles were originally placed for auction on GovDeals, but there were no offers. Reclaimed Water Supervisor Leigh Ann McDonald then reached out to Brevard Zoo. “I heard they could repurpose items like the poles we had within their exhibits and maintenance areas,” McDonald said.
The zoo made the formal request to the City, and the poles will be getting a new home there soon.
