City of Melbourne Now Offers Free Stormwater System Inspections for Private HOAs
The City of Melbourne is offering free stormwater system inspections during the month of June to private homeowner associations (HOAs) to encourage preventative maintenance before the first big storm of the season.
An engineering inspector from the city will check outfall structures, ponds and other parts of a private community’s stormwater conveyance system to ensure it is working properly. However, the existing stormwater conveyance piping will not be inspected. If any deficiencies are found, the city will provide a courtesy recommendation for measures that the HOA can take to correct the problems. The city will not perform work to correct the deficiencies.
For more information and to schedule a free pre-storm inspection, please call the Stormwater Hotline: (321) 608-7341.
