Water Service Rates and Charges

A water security deposit is required for all residential customers in the City.  To determine if your address is serviced with City, County or Palm Bay sewer, contact the Utility Billing Department at (321) 953-6390 or via e-mail.   
The following tables include a summary of water, wastewater, reclaimed water, and solid waste collection rates.

Additional Fees:  The water connection fee for 3/4" meters is an additional $250.  The sewer connection fee is an additional $100.
 
Commercial Customers:   Security deposit charges are equal to two and one-half times the average monthly bill based on the previous six months billing at the same location.

Reclaimed Water Service Rates and Charges

Each reclaimed water service customer must pay a $125 connection fee. Prior to service, a backflow prevention device must be installed at the customer's expense. In addition, there is a monthly fee of $5.00 for the first one-half acre of pervious area and $20.00 for every acre of pervious area thereafter.

Ordinance No. 2007-58, adopted by City Council on July 24, 2007, authorizes the rates contained in Chapter 32, Utilities, of the City of Melbourne Code of Ordinances, a copy of which can be obtained from the City Clerk's office or online through the Municipal Code Corporation.
