Construction
Activity
Effective May 1, 2003,
construction sites that
will result in a disturbance of
one acre or more, are required to seek NPDES permit
coverage under the Generic Permit for Stormwater
Discharge from Large and Small Construction Activities
(Section 403.0885, Florida Statutes (F.S.)
Operators must obtain
coverage and implement pollution prevention techniques
to minimize erosion and sedimentation and properly
manage stormwater. A CGP Notice of Intent (NOI)
must be submitted to the NPDES Stormwater Notices Center
to obtain permit coverage and a Stormwater Pollution
Prevention Plan must be developed and implemented to be
in compliance with the permit. Useful FDEP
guidance links are provided below to assist you.
Please note: The
City of Melbourne requires a copy of your NOI and SWPP
prior to site plan approval. This is
required on all construction sites greater than 1 acre.
