The Melbourne Police Department offers a salary competitive with other
law enforcement agencies in Brevard County. The current starting salary for Patrol Officers is
$34,559 per year with a top salary range of $53,035. Pay for Sergeants and
Lieutenants is adjusted accordingly. Differential pay is provided for
Officers assigned to evening and midnight shifts.
Overtime is available for annual
events such as Oktoberfest and the Melbourne Art Festival, as well as for
many other special details involving local merchants and businesses.
