The Melbourne Police
Department offers individuals a challenging opportunity to be of
service to their community as a Police Reserve. As a reserve
officer, you will assist the regular members of the department in
the fulfillment of its mission "to protect and to serve".
When you become a police
reserve officer, experienced officers will train you for law
enforcement service. This training meets the standards established
by FDLE for both regular and reserve officers. The Melbourne Police
Department furnishes all uniforms and safety equipment to its
officers. You will be required to perform a minimum of twenty hours
of duty a month, which includes training and meetings.
For more information
on the reserve program please call
Sgt Byron Barnes, 409-3320.
