In the spring of 1991 the Melbourne Police Department partnered with Cablevision (now Bright House) to produce a monthly television show called You and Your Police. The name of the show changed to Melbourne Police Outreach in 2004. During the 2004 hurricane season, the production studios were severely damaged, and we were off the air until October, 2005. With the new show came a new name, and Behind the Badge is now aired on Bright House Channel 15, Mondays at 7:00 PM, and Wednesdays at 6:00 PM and also on WSCF TV-31 Sundays and Mondays at 8 PM.

The Chief of Police and his guests educate the public on various programs, not only within the Melbourne Police Department, but also their participation in events in the community.
