Why Report
Street Lighting Problems? Citizens calling in non-working lights speed the repair process tremendously. A work order is generated immediately when a non-working streetlight is reported directly to our office. In the event that you do call a light in for repair, please share information such as whether the light is completely out or if it is coming on and then going off again. The term cycling is used to describe a light that is coming on and then going off repeatedly. It is a great help to the response team to know the general symptoms of the non-working light fixture so that we can prepare for the service call. How
long does it take to get a streetlight repaired ? There are conditions that can alter our response time. In the event the non-working light is on one of the causeways we may wait until two or more lights need service due to the extensive traffic safety work-zones that that we are required to setup by FDOT. But in general we try to repair all street lights within forty eight hours.
Events that can cause delays in service include responses to storm damage. Unlike the City, FPL must prioritize their streetlight repair functions as they relate to their greater responsibility of providing electrical service to area homes and businesses. Other Sites of Interest |
