Meehan was elected from Melbourne's District 3, which is bounded by
Babcock Street on the west, Lipscomb Street and the Indian River
Lagoon on the north and east, and the city limit to the south.

of 2004 and will be completed in November of 2008. Vice Mayor
Meehan has been appointed by the City Council to represent Melbourne as
a member of the Brevard Metropolitan Planning Organization.
She
was selected in November of 2007 by fellow Council Members to serve a one-year term as Vice
Mayor during 2007-2008. Vice Mayor Meehan will also serve as
Vice-President of the Board of Directors for the Space Coast League
of Cities for 2008. She encourages everyone to attend the
Melbourne Police Community Relations Council every second Thursday
of the month.
Vice Mayor Meehan is a native of Montreal, Canada. She became a naturalized
American Citizen in 1967, and has lived in Melbourne since 1979. She
graduated from the Florida Institute of Technology in 1992 with honors with a Bachelor of
Science Degree in Psychology after earning her Associate in Arts Degree from Brevard Community College.
Prior to election to the City Council, Vice Mayor Meehan had served
the City as a member of the Planning and Zoning Board. She is employed
as a Sales Representative with Meehan's Office Products and has
also worked as a Case Manager with Community Care for the Elderly.
