Mayor Harry Goode was elected without opposition to a second four-year term that began in November of 2008.  The Mayor is the only member of the City Council who is not elected from a district.  Link to Map of Districts.  Mayor Goode also serves on the Airport Authority that governs operations of the Melbourne International Airport.

He previously served as Mayor from 1979 to 1986, and then served in the Florida House of Representatives for 14 years. Mayor Goode has previously served as the City's voting delegate/director on the Space Coast League of Cities. He was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Florida League of Mayors in November 2005. Mayor Goode is a member of the Florida League of Cities Advocacy Committee and the Florida league of Cities Federal Action Strike Team.

Mayor Goode was born in Brevard County, and is a graduate of Melbourne High School. He also attended Florida Southern College.  Mayor Goode was a local independent business owner before retirement.
