Cheryl Palmer
District 5


Cheryl Palmer has served on the Melbourne City Council since 1998. She has twice been elected by the Council to serve as Vice Mayor. She was elected from Melbourne's District 5, which covers the area from Eau Gallie Boulevard south to Dow Road and the north perimeter of the Melbourne International Airport at NASA Boulevard, and from just west of Harbor City Boulevard (U.S. 1) on the east to Interstate 95 on the west. She was appointed to the Brevard Metropolitan Planning Organization in 2004 and appointed as a member of the Melbourne Airport Authority in 2005.  She serves as the City's voting delegate/director on the Space Coast League of Cities.

Council Member Palmer earned an AA degree from Florida Community College of Jacksonville, and has attended the University of Florida and the University of Central Florida. She is also a former business owner.

Memberships: Council Member Palmer is a member of the Wickham Park Advisory Committee, the Melbourne Area Federated Republican Women, the Leadership Council of Brevard, and the Christian Coalition of Brevard County. She is also the former District 5 Chairman of the Republican Executive Committee of Brevard County.

Personal: Council Member Palmer has been married since 1973 to Charles Palmer, Jr., and has two sons, Scott Palmer, M.D. and David Palmer, and one daughter, Suzanne Webster. Council Member Palmer attends Calvary Chapel of Melbourne.
