Celebrating America's Independence Day
The City of Melbourne, Florida, will present an Independence Day Fireworks display at 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 4, over the Indian River Lagoon at Claude Edge Front Street Park, 2210 Front Street, just north of the Melbourne Causeway.
CONTRIBUTIONS PAY FOR THE FIREWORKS:
The fireworks display is funded by generous contributions to the Melbourne Community Fireworks Fund by individuals, groups, businesses, and local governments. The 2013 goal of an ongoing fundraising activity is to raise $15,000 to fund the display and support the parade that is organized by the Honor America organization.2012 Contributor List
FREE SHUTTLE BUS:
Because parking is limited in the vicinity of the park, a free shuttle bus service is to operate between the Melbourne Auditorium and Front Street Park beginning at 7:10 p.m. A complete schedule is provided a belowt. PARKING:
Parking is allowed in legal spaces in the vicinity of the fireworks display. No parking is allowed on the portion of the causeway that is in the City of Melbourne. Limited parking for the disabled is available near Front Street Park.Please note that some businesses may have your vehicle towed from their private properties even if they are not open for business on July 4.
The boat ramp at Front Street Park is to be closed at 5 p.m. on July 3 to allow for Independence Day activities at the park, and is to reopen at 9 a.m. on July 5.
