CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CLASS

Under the general supervision of the Auditorium Recreation Superintendent. Performs general custodial work as well as any other related duties for the Auditorium.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

A.    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Lifts and moves heavy items such as tables, chairs, etc..

Mops, sweeps and performs general cleaning duties of the Auditorium.

B.    MARGINAL FUNCTIONS

Climbing ladders and other strenuous activities.
    

REQUIREMENTS

A.    TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma, GED, or relevant work experience. Some custodial experience helpful.

B.    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Ability to work irregular hours including weekends and evenings.

Knowledge of building/office cleaning processes, supplies, and equipment helpful.

C.    PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to move up and down ladders.

Ability to read and interpret table and chair configurations.

Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

Ability to go from standing position to a bending, kneeling, or squatting position for less than ten minutes at one time.

Ability to perform physical labor while standing for long periods of time.

Ability to work with and around various cleaning chemicals.

Ability to see and read.

Ability to hear, speak and understand conversation in English in a normal tone of voice.

Ability to work in undesirable conditions including dust, dirt, heat, humidity, and chemicals.
