Every building for
which a permit is issued on or after July 1, 2008 and
having a fossil-fuel-burning heater or appliance, a
fireplace, or an attached garage shall have an
operational Carbon Monoxide Alarm installed within 10
feet of each room used for sleeping purposes.
This means every new
single or multi-family building that has gas appliances,
a fireplace or an attached garage has to meet this
requirement.
This also includes
any permits for renovations or additions to buildings
that meet the above criteria. |
