Annual Fire Hydrant Maintenance to Begin Beachside Near Pineda Causeway

Post Date:03/03/2016 2:00 PM
On Monday, March 7, a City of Melbourne contractor will begin a year-long project to perform basic maintenance work on more than 4,000 fire hydrants in the City of Melbourne’s water service area.

The maintenance work, which includes flushing and painting the hydrants, is conducted annually to ensure that all fire hydrants are working properly and will be operational in the event of a fire emergency.

The city’s contractor, Hydro Max, will begin working on the hydrants located on NE Third Street in South Patrick Shores and will proceed south from that location to Eau Gallie Boulevard before moving onto the next segment of the water service area.

Updates will be posted on the City of Melbourne’s website as the project progresses.
