Learn About Downtown Melbourne’s Historic Properties Survey June 5
The City of Melbourne will be hosting a public workshop on June 5 to review the progress that has been made in surveying Downtown Melbourne’s historic properties since the last comprehensive historic survey was completed 27 years ago.
City staff will discuss the state-funded project to survey buildings in the downtown area for inclusion in the State of Florida’s inventory of historic resources (Florida Master Site File) and will debut an interactive map of downtown’s historic survey information. Please join us to learn more about this effort and to see if your property was one of those surveyed. If it was, we would like to learn more about the history of your site — previous ownership, prior exterior modifications, property photos, and any other information that you feel would contribute to creating a robust inventory of the historic properties in Downtown Melbourne.
