Representatives from the Space Coast Transportation Planning Organization (SCTPO)  have announced the launch of the Sarno Road Corridor study to identify changes and needs of the roadway, and now TPO staff are seeking feedback from area residents.

Residents are encouraged to attend any of the public meetings to explore opportunities for improvement along Sarno Road, including upgraded pedestrian and bicycle facilities and addressing safety and traffic flow issues.

All meetings will take place at the Eau Gallie Civic Center (1551 Highland Ave, Melbourne, FL 32935) on the following dates:

Tuesday, Apr. 24
5:30 – 7:30 p.m., Opening Presentation Workshop

Wednesday, Apr. 25
9 – 4 p.m., Open House

Thursday, Apr. 26
9 – 4 p.m., Open House
5:30 – 7:30 p.m., Closing Presentation

In addition to the public meetings, a short survey, available online at until Apr. 30, will be used to assess current issues with Sarno Road and outline the needs of residents who live, work and shop along the street. Covering topics such as travel patterns, transportation preferences, safety, access and potential changes to the corridor, the Sarno Road survey will provide valuable information for the SCTPO to develop an improvement plan.

“The public meetings and the survey are vital as input from the Melbourne community will directly impact the future of the Sarno Road Corridor,” said Georganna Gillette, Project Manager and incoming Executive Director for the SCTPO.

“We encourage all residents to have a say by voicing their opinions through the online survey or attending one of the workshops. The SCTPO will use feedback gathered from this survey and from public meetings as we work to determine how to improve one of the area’s most-traveled connector roads.”
