PRECAUTIONARY BOIL WATER NOTICE: Beachside Between Wallace Ave. & Pineda Causeway
On Feb. 11, 2018, there was a water main break at Burns Blvd. in Indian Harbour Beach, north of Eau Gallie Blvd. and east of the Indian River Lagoon.
Crews have isolated the break, and pressures are returning to normal. Repairs are expected to be completed sometime this evening (Feb. 11). The Precautionary Boil Water Notice remains in effect.
Precautionary Boil Water Notice Advisory Issued for BEACHSIDE Customers Between Wallace Ave. in Indian Harbour Beach & Pineda Causeway
Water pressure in the distribution system has dropped below the minimum of 20 psi allowed by state regulations.
Due to the drop in water pressure, as a precaution, we advise that all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes, be boiled. A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient. As an alternative, bottled water may be used.
This precautionary boil water notice affects Melbourne water customers who live beachside between Wallace Ave. (just north of Eau Gallie Blvd.) and the Pineda Causeway in the communities of Indian Harbour Beach and Satellite Beach.
If you live on the mainland, this notice does not affect you.
This precautionary boil water notice is expected to remain in effect until the required bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink. We will provide a notification at that time.
We will alert customers via a Code Red call and will also post an update on the City of Melbourne website and the city's Twitter and Facebook pages as soon as the precautionary boil water notice is lifted.
