Melbourne Police responded to the Aloha Pet and Bird Hospital on December 26, 2017 for a report of a man that caused a disturbance and attempted to break out their front window after he was asked to leave. The business manager stated that the same suspect had been in the business the month before and had stolen a cat from the facility. She stated when he returned on 12/26/2017 he came inside and made some rambling statements about animals needing to be “freed and not trapped” then went outside and began beating on the window with some type of object (presumably a hammer) and cracked the heavy hurricane resistant window at the front of the business. The suspect fled the area prior to police arrival.
The suspect was described as a white male, thin build, with beard and mustache, long dreadlock style hair-in a ponytail. At the time of the second incident he, was wearing multi-color yoga pants and a grey hooded sweatshirt.
If anyone has information on this suspect that would help identify him, they are asked to contact Sgt John Chapman at 321-609-6322.
