Traffic safety initiative helps MPD capture wanted felon

On Friday, November 18, 2017, at 2:40 AM, Officers were enforcing “Operation Street Smart,” a city-wide traffic safety initiative, in the south DDACTS area at New Haven/US1 when they stopped a male on a bicycle for a traffic violation (no white/red light on bicycle). Subject initially gave a false name of James Gerard. After utilizing live-scan, the subject was positively identified as Michael Dudley-Palmer who was wanted by the Melbourne Police Department in reference to a SWAT call-out/barricaded subject on Pineapple Ave on November 13th. Dudley-Palmer was additionally charged with providing false information, resisting arrest without violence and violation of probation.
