Riverview Park to Host Farmers Market Saturdays Beginning Oct. 7
Vendors offering fresh produce, flowers, prepared foods, local handmade crafts, and other artisan goods will be situated within Riverview Park’s beautiful greenspace along the Indian River Lagoon.
Kids will enjoy the park’s featured playground. Food trucks will be offering meals and snacks, and ample seating will be provided under the parks’ five new shaded canopies. A new ¼-mile-loop trail has also recently been completed at the park, offering a nice stroll along the river.
Vendors and organizers are excited about the move, which will make the market more child-, family- and pet-friendly. “Local farmers markets keep communities strong and connected,” said Karen Shea, co-organizer of the Downtown Farmers Market. “The move to Riverview Park will give people the ability to relax and enjoy the benefits of this beautiful park as well as the market’s local offerings.”
“Hosting the Downtown Farmers Market is the latest move in the effort to revitalize Riverview Park and transforming it into a recreational destination and economic driver for the entire community,” said Kevin Briski, Director of Parks, Recreation and Golf. “We encourage you to come out to shop, stroll, and check out the city’s most scenic park.”
