Fire Department Dedicates New Fire Engine With Traditional “Push In” Ceremony
This morning the Melbourne Fire Department held a “Push In” ceremony to officially dedicate its newest fire engine for service.
The new Sutphen Fire Engine placed into service today will be used to fight fires and provide life support in emergency situations.
It’s the latest public safety vehicle purchased under a Melbourne City Council-approved plan that dedicates a portion of tax revenues each year to replace fire rescue apparatus and police vehicles. It will be positioned at Fire Station 75 on University Boulevard near Babcock Street.
